FAQs

Everything you need to know about The Shunya Race. From The Loop to The Bell, and the application to race day.

Do's

  • Complete each 7km loop within 60 minutes. Missing the cutoff means ringing the bell. You're out.

  • Run faster if you want more recovery time. Finish in 30 min, rest 30 min. Finish in 55 min, rest 5 min.

  • Ring the bell when you're done. Walk to it, ring it, you're out. No announcement needed.

  • Bring a headlamp. Some paths may not be lit well through the night.

  • Pack change of clothes, extra socks, shoes, and towels. You'll be out there through the night.

  • Bring any legal substances you may need. Gels, supplements, pain relief. Your call.

  • Wear The Band at all times during the race. It's part of The Protocol. Non-negotiable.

Don'ts

  • Miss your payment windows for slot reservation. Your spot goes to someone else and your money is forfeited.

  • Bring more than one support person to basecamp at a time. One person in your corner, interchangeable only when they leave.

  • Bring drugs, firearms, illegal substances, or any other prohibited items. Not permitted on-site, no exceptions.

  • Expect entertainment, music, or comfort provisions. Base camp has fuel and hydration. Nothing designed to make the hours feel shorter.

  • Share the location before being confirmed. Venue is disclosed to selected athletes only, after slot confirmation.
